I have been doing the Green diet for a month but dont seem to be loosing any weight, can anyone tell me where im going wrong?

My typical day will be a measured amount nestle clusters with skimmed milk for breakfast, banana and muller light mid day snack, jacket potato with baked beans and cheese for lunch. Quorn, potatos and vegitables for dinner and a glass of skimmed milk. I use all my healthy extras and the rest is free food, im not sure where im going wrong =( for syns i would have a cream egg to satisfy my chocoholic needs lol i thought maybe the cream egg was causeing the weight to stay but its under the daily allowence so im a bit confused.

Are syns compulsory, or can you skip them?

Everything your eating sounds fine, but is this what you eat on most days? I have found on the slimming world plan, that sometimes to loose weight quicker I need to eat a variety of different foods, so perhaps you could change what you normally eat to something new (but still on the plan). If you look in the slimming world magazines, there are loads of different ideas, and new healthy extras out which may help to add a bit more variety and it may be more enjoyable for you to try new things! Dont be to disheartened with not lossing weight yet, you may find next month you get a whole month of fantastic weight loss, Ive seen it happen so much at slimming world groups! Good luck and I hope all goes well!

The reasn you are not losing weight is very obvious - you are consuming way too much carbohydrate unless you have a physical job or do a lot of exercise. Nestle clusters are a refined cereal fullof sugar, loads of carbs there, a banana is about the highest carb fruit you can eat, the Muller light yoghurt has way more sugar because it is low fat, and your jacket potato with baked beans (which also contain sugar) just adds to your carb intake. Then more potatoes at dinner. And if you add a creme egg on the top then there is no chance you are going to lose weight. You would do much better following a low GL diet such as the one by Patrick Holford. He doesn't run diet clubs so has no reason to keep you fat!

I have been amember of SW for almost 5 years now and although I have reached target I daren't not go cos I know I will just revert back to my old weight.

Your daily menu seems fine to me. You don't have to use your syns but it would seem a waste not to do so. Your creme egg is fine. Are you exercising too? Cos this can build up muscle and muscle can weigh more than fat. Are you using Green cos you are a veggie? I have heard of people who eat mainly green not losing weight. However, you eat Quorn so you must be getting protein in some way or another. It might be worth speaking to your Consultant - if he/she is anything like our one, then their advice is extremely helpful.

Take care and keep trying!!

I wouldn't skip the syns if I was you. When I was on Slimming world, I kept it around 5 a day. You're body needs fat in order to burn fat.
I don't know why you haven't lost, how active are you? You seem to eat alot of the same foods. Try adding a bit of variety and have less potatoes.

Hi, dont do slimming world go to weight watchers instead then you will really see the difference. You will lose weight each week. if you stick to the points. and not green codes. Even though you are using these as a guide it sounds like your giving your self too much to lose weight. Everyone i know who has donew weight watchers loses weight in there first week if they stick to the points system. So it might be time for a change as your not getting any where with this diet.
Even on weight watchers you can have wat you want as long as you keep to your points so I cant see it being bad for you as you will have taken it off you points allowance. Surely the people at your slimming world group have noticed that your not losing anything so they should be trying to sort it out for you. At weight watchers, they want to know why when you dont lose weight one week they ask you what you have been eating etc to get to the bottom of it. Which is why its so good.

Also try adding omellettes to your diet for you lunch or tea. On weight watchers everytime I had lost weight was when I had an omellette every other day for my lunch and I wasnt starving either,

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. It boosts your metabolism and improves natural ephadrine, the hormone which burns fat. According to Jeya Holly, professor of human nutrition in Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon with your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 percent!

Go bland. Plain, uncomplicated, unseasoned food such as cooked chicken, plain rice and a undressed baked potato are nutritious however your palette will tire of these people quickly, unlike salty moreish prepared food, which keeps you snacking and piling around the pounds.

Chewing your food thoroughly won't make digestion easier, but will allow your body time to recognise if it's actually full, thus preventing eating too much.
