I use pantene and it's the best thing i've ever used, but when i went to get my hair cut the lady said it wasn;t good for my hair, it sounded like a sales pitch because u asked her then what is good for my hair and she was like oh any salon products and she went on and told me what i should buy from them....So is pantene really bad for your hair or is it something that high priced shampoo companies made up so that pantene wouldn't put them out of business

Hi
Every hairdresser i have ever been to tells me how bad Pantene is for your hair (after they have just told me what great condition my hair is in)!!!
Pantene has silicone in it which coats the hair and leaves it feeling incredibly smooth in the shower. Silicone actually does no harm to the hair, although it can disguise badly damaged hair by coating it. It will not however repair the hair.
I have continued to use it and have never been short on compliments on my healthy, shiny hair. However, after a hairdresser decided to razor cut my hair and had it looking like rats tails until I had it redone elsewhere, i think ill stick to the Pantene. I can always trust that - not sure about the hairdressers though!!!!!

Okay here's the deal with pantene. Pantene's claim to fame is how soft it makes your hair feel. The reason being is because it coats the hair with a "wax like" substance. Think of waxing your floors. First they look shiny and great but over time the floors get a residue build up on them. Therefore they can no longer get clean because of the build up. So I'm not dissing pantene but if your going to use it, as a stylist, I recommend using a clarifying shampoo once a week or every other week. In order to get the build up off the hair. If the strand is coated with substance any nutrients can't get into the cuticle. Not only that pantene can make it hard to get a good predictable color on the hair.

Ok this is the maintain pantene. Pantene's claim to repute is how soft it makes your hair suppose. The intent being is for the reason that it coats the hair with a "wax like" substance. Consider of waxing your floors. First they show up vivid and first-rate but over time the flooring get a residue assemble up on them. Hence they could also be ready to no longer get effortless considering the fact that that of the build up. So i am now not dissing pantene but if your going to use it, as a stylist, I advocate utilising a clarifying shampoo as quickly as every week or every one of a kind week. So that you can get the construct up off the hair. If the strand is lined with substance any nutrition and minerals cannot get into the cuticle. No longer handiest that pantene can make it tough to get a simply right predictable color on the hair.

I also use to use pantene, a hairdresser told me the same thing that pantene really is bad for your hair. I then went over to protein feed, and i must say, my hair has never felt this good. I think that it is a good thing to swop between different types of shampoo.
But i have to say that i do think that pantene is bad for your hair. I have heard many people say that. Why don't you try something else?

Pantene is just about the best shampoo on the market today. It's wonderful for your hair. Don't buy into the sales pitch!

My hair stylist also told me that pantene is really bad for your hair. She told me that if you're gonna get shampoo from a drug store, the best one's are the cheapy one's like Suave. The reason that shampoos like pantene and herbal essences are bad for your hair is b/c of the chemicals that are in them. They cause wax build-up in your hair. I usually get my shampoo from my hair salon now (they always have sales going on.)

I've never heard that, but I use Pantene most of the time and I have really good hair. Some people or modest about having good hair, but not me. I use it and I have beautiful, full, and healthy hair.

I've heard that before, but there is one thing I heard more important than that, I went to a seminar on health and the speaker told us to watch shampoos that the second ingredient "SLS" or Sodium Lauret S??, that is causing a lot of hair loss for people. I went to Walmart to find a shampoo without it, and almost every shampoo I found had it except for a few. I believe the presenter, so try and find a mild shampoo without it. I talked to a hair dresser who agreed with this and stated she noticed a lot of young people whose hair was really thin.
