Oh my goodness, talk about a long night...

When my cat had her kittens, she had me up at 1am. However, the first kitten didn't come about until a little after 6am. Between births nature usually gives them enough time so the mama cat can get the sac off of the baby and to clean it up. It was approx. 5 - 10 minutes between the first three in my case. But after the third kitten was born and ok, we waited for about 20 more minutes and nothing happened, so I decided to get some coffee. When I got back into my room she had 2 new babies!
The amazing thing is, all of my kids (aged 11, 9 and 6 at the time) saw it all. They heard her "crying" right before the first kitten was born and came running to make sure everything was ok. Thank God all the kittens survived! That would have broken their hearts should one of the babies not have made it.
But ya know what? Now we get to go through this again, because now my dog is pregnant. *insert rolling eyes here* LOL

The Girls are right. Don't panic, and try not to handle them too early. If the cat is not sure what to do you may need to clear the kittens nose of the mucus and sac that comes out in. The cat should lick this off and may eat it (not the kitten) including the placenta, or placentas.
you should let the cat eat what it wants to, pretty grim but it's full of pro teen that the needs to get over the birth. Mum should drink lots of fluid but may be off her food for a while. Enjoy

my sisters cat when she was prego, she had a very long labour, her contractions didn't start unil 9am and her first kitten wasn't born until 2:36pm, and then each kitten was born a hour from each other. So she had difficulties, since she was so tired at the end. So it all depends on the cat. But good luck and let us know when the day comes on how many kittens and all alright.

Nope. They come out one at a time over a period of time. My cat had 2 kittens a few weeks ago and there was 1.5 hours between births.

Well yes, basically. If your cat starts having kittens she should definitely be done within the night or day. But usually after an hour or two they're done.

Yes, over an hour or two. If it is too spread out she could be in difficulty.
