I have had my doubts for some time. They were finally realised when i just read one of his answers stating that antibiotics may help a sore throat and that gargling with paracetamol will inflame it.
Im sorry but I work in the healthcare sector and the first thing that is recommended for a sore throat is gargling with paracetamol.
Does anyone else think he is an impostor?

What about 'Doctor' Gillian Mackeith then ?
She bought her diploma off the Internet and never had any medical training.

I have read many answers from Dr Frank and they all have seemed okay to me. Aspirin is best used to gargle a sore throat.
If the sore throat is related to a tonsillitis / infection (not virus) then yes antibiotics would help.

At end of day we could all be anyone. I could be the Queen!!!!

Well I'm not actually a dolly, I'm a real person, despite my Yahoo Answers identity. But that doesn't make me a liar. Although I'm not a dolly, all my answers and questions are genuine. I doubt if Dr Frank is actually called Frank, but he sure seems to know his onions. He gives some sound advice and always in a professional manner. Lets support him in supporting us. Hi Dr Frank xx

you mean the one who said a patients doctor had done the wrong thing--but then told someone else, that if their doctors cant find their problem, then nobody on this site could--
thats quite a contradiction-the last point simply is not true-
it wouldnt surprise me if he was a real doctor, but somehow I doubt it-I think its against the law to call yoursellf a doctor, without qualification anyway..

oi there's only one queen round here...

But no I think Dr Frank is for real. Despite the fact that the GMC does not allow internet advice I believe I think his contributions are very useful - although he does have to remain anonymous. He comes across in the same way I've known GP's to talk, especially the more experienced ones.

However I'm a little miffed he never answered my cannabis question given this is one of his pet hates.

He claims to be a gp, but if he's been one for a long time he may be out-dated in his advice. I do know of some older doctors who have trouble keeping up with modern medicine.

In short, I'm really not sure, but if he IS a gp, then I'm glad he's not mine.

Hi Desmond,
Yeah I am sure he is not a real doctor but I think there are very few people who are what they say they are on here anyway. What a lovely place the world would be if everyone was genuine.xxxxxxxx
