usually because they produce no where near the ammount of power of conventioal methods.
Additionally windmill generators have been found to be bird killing machines..
Solar cells require more energy to make than they produce and only last a few years before they need to be replaced.
Geothermal requires special geologic areas same with hydroelectric (rivers), tidal etc.

Mainly because the currently favoured alternatives are 'part-time' generators. They cannot produce what is called 'base load'. Incidentally the accusation that wind generators are bird killers has no evidential proof.
The real alternative, something which will produce CONTINUOUS electricity has yet to be developed.
In Australia, the drilling of holes down to the level of hot rocks, up to 300 degrees C, pumping water down one hole and using the steam arising from a nearby one to drive a steam engine powered generator seems to be the close to the answer. Unfortunately, these 'hot rocks' are a long way from the national grid.
Nuclear energy is just a very complicated, expensive and dangerous steam engine anyway, and we have no way at all of disposing of the waste. Already nuclear waste is causing storage problems all over the world.

They are usually unacceptable because of geographic and climate limitations. Areas in the Northwest and Midwest have been able to use large qualities of hydro power, while areas in the Mississippi Valley and Wyoming have use large amounts of wind energy and ship it to neighboring states. Countries like Sweden and Brazil are currently working towards using biofuels.
Why isn't this type of thing happening in more places? Simple, the hydro power only works in places with mountains, wind energy requires regular wind, and biofuel requires something a lot more effective then corn to make it worth the effort.

alternative energy are still unacceptable?
because the elites who own petroleum are still making money with petrol
and we have electricity by burning oil or coal
when that runs out
the focus will shift to alternative energgies ,and there are many ,solar power (electric or heat)wind power (for dynamos or pumps or mills)the movement of the tides pendulums for electricity
the water flows ,rivers cannals waterfalls etc for water wheells (mills)or turbines (electricity)
there has been a hydrogen engine arround for almost a hundred years ,invented by Rudloph Steiner ,he was assasinated for his genius ,because nobody wanted a car that could run on water when Petrol was just taking off
but this engine is readty and waiting for the right time
when is the right time ????
,when oil runs out,and when these powerfull illuminati have figured out a way to charge us for the Sun and the air and the Water

It is completely acceptable. Who said it is not acceptable? It is just that traditional energy is cheaper and people usually buy things based on price. Would you pay 2 or 3 times more for your energy if you didn't have to? Maybe you would if you were rich, but most people are not rich. And most rich people got rich by paying the lowest price for things.

its very costly to convert to solar or wind and not 100% reliable however most people dont realise that they wast alot of the power they use and if they didnt waste power. alternative energy would be more acceptable

It's not unacceptable, just expensive.
And, to reduce the effects of global warming, it will become more important.
Nuclear, solar, wind, biofuels. We'll need them all.
