I taught Sophie to beg. I taped her doing it - it's on my 360 page in my blog.

My cat learnt a very neat trick, she figured out how to work the handles on the cupboard door under the sink where he food used to be kept. So she would open the door and chow down on her biscuits.
She also managed to learn how to slide the wooden door across on the back of my Lizard tank so she could play with the lizard, unfortunately this ended in the lizards death, but my cat was looking very pleased with herself for being able to get in there in the first place. Especially if it was the cupboard with the food inside.

My Tonkinese rolls over when you ask her to, and waits to get her belly rubbed. And my Korat does a somersault when you tickle the top of your head. Cats can be trained, but some are really "aloof" and resent being asked to do such things. Just have plenty of treats, and give your kitty a treat when s/he does the desired (or close to it) trick. Good luck!!

I taught my persian blue cat to play fetch with his toy. H e abosuletly loved it and brought it back for me everytime. My other cat Boris used to do the toilet in my toilet, when he thought I wasnt looking! Both now sadly deceased but never forgotten.

I had a go at teaching her to sit but it only works when you have food available. She does pat my hand with her paw though i was trying to get her to give me five last night heheehehehehe. I would be happy if she started to response properly with her name.
