The following day, a "thank you" gift, a large orchid, was delivered to the party's hostess.
The following was written on the note: "I would be obliged if you would pin this on your white meat. -- W. Churchill"

I think its true, Old Winston had a really dry sense of humour

I wouldn't doubt it. He did have a way with words. He's the one who told a lady, "I will be sober tomorrow; you'll still be fat." It was when some lady was complaining he was a little tipsy. Lol
