I'd just like a guy's opinion on this before I actually do it and potentially make a fool of myself. There's this guy I like, let's call him A, and I know he likes me too. We're pretty close and in my opinion, neither of us wants to jeopardize what we've got by getting into a relationship.

Well, there's something I really want to tell him but I don't know if it's a good idea or whether he'd get what I'm trying to hint if I send this song to him. It's a song called "Obvious" by Westlife. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the words, please do me a favour and search for the lyrics. I wanted to attach them but I don't have enough space to do so.

Okay, so here's the question. If a girl friend of yours, someone you've known pretty well for the past 6 years, suddenly sends you this song (or the lyrics) what would you make of it? Would you get the hint?

I just want to know what you guys would think before I actually go ahead with it and possibly fall flat on my face. Thanks!!

It may be an idea, its good that you don't want to rush things as he will be shocked.

Go ahead with it as he will be able to think slowly rather than hearing you confess your feelings all in one go. Its a good song too since it is not too obvious and at the same time not too confusing.

Be prepared that he may not feel the same way as you do so take things slowly and don't put too much hope it.

All the best..

Do your own writing. You are building a shaky foundation when you let someone else's words do your talking. There is too much room for misinterpretation. He will be in the uncomfortable position of having to determine what the song means exactly to *you*.

If the song accurately represents how you feel, use it to craft
a personal message to him. Let songs like that supplement what you have already told him, not lead the way.

Why deny him the love letter that is in you? You can word it in
a way that takes into account the situation you have with him.
It will sure mean a lot more to him than some song you send.

I don't have the patience of actually finding out actually what the lyric says. But I have a word of advice for you. For heaven's sake, don't send suggestive or resembling lyrics and end up jeopardising your relationship. I am a victim of one such incident.

I know I'm a fellow female but from my experience, guys are only friends with girls they would like to be with. If he doesn't have a girlfriend, go for it. The friendship will change but most likely for the better. Good luck.

that song comes off a little to forward. esp if you both agreed that getting into a relationship could jeopardize your friendship. i think your better off just telling him how you feel. and that you cant control who you like. tell him that your willing to take the chance if he is.

Why beat around the bush? Tell him how you feel.
