At 11 years old he should be okay at home. If you leave lots of juice in the fridge and the phone beside him ..
If you are very worried then call your boss and ask him what he would suggest, are there any options.
some employers are not sympathetic at all but some are, as they have children too.
Maybe you can work out some sort of compromise that would be good for everyone.
If there is no chance to compromise then call him throughout the day and check in on him at home.
Also you should find an older person who stays home, maybe friend or lady from church who could help you out next time.
You have to find someone who is trustworthy for emergencies..
Get a plan going here, so you don't have to worry about your sick child when you can't be at home.
he will probably spend most of the day sleeping and watching tv.
You should go to work, if y

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do in this siutation! Call your boss and explain the situation. Tell him that you will continue to try to find someone to sit with him, but that you simply cannot leave him alone while he is sick! If they are family oriented, they will understand. I would not ask to bring him to work and let him stay in a room, but that would be ideal...and hopefully they will offer! I just think you're too new to ask for those kinds of privaledges! If you're a good employee and hard worker, few employers have problems when you can't come in because your child is truly sick! He needs his mom, so stay home and take care of him and everything will work out..don't sweat it!

Call in...your child is sick and if you as a parent do not think he can handle staying home or is getting worse you have to decide. If the employer is not understanding he's not an employer he/she is behaving in a childish manner but most have a head on their shoulders. Has a family member already had this and is it possible to call on them if so? Sometimes moms/grandmums will assist.
1. If your child is ill...think...would you like to be in a strange place or at home while getting over a flu especially throwing up etc?
2. When anyone has the flu, including a child, don't spread it. At the same time you realize this you teach your child the same.
Good luck :)

Have you ever seen any one else bring in there child to work.? If yes, then I would call and see if you can bring in yours. See if you can switch with someone who has a day off today.
Or switch with the laundry room personso if you bring in your son he can stay in the laundry room with you.
If you can't bring him to work you might just have to call in. Then I would find someone or make friends with someone to be able to help you with this happens again. Cause you know it will. What are you going to do during the summer or on holidays. ??

I don't know where you live, but in our area it is illegal to leave an eleven-year-old home alone, especially if he is sick.
Call in and explain your situation. I doubt that they'll want a sick child at your workplace, so plan on staying home with him and taking him to your doctor today.
Good luck!

Call in, but also take your son to the doctor, and have the doctor write an absent excuse for your son. Legally you can't be fired because of health problems if you have a doctor's excuse.
