I was in the same situation in high school. I liked a boy and my bf liked him also only she didn't know I liked him. I heard her talking about how he might be the one for her. She seemed happy so I backed off and told him I wasn't interested in him. It was hard seeing them together but it also made me happy that she was happy. The point is, there can only be one first place winner. Sacrifice him or your friendship.

I have two female best friends and we have all been best friends since we were in high school. We never really had any rules about guys we just out of respect wouldn't date or sleep with each others current boyfriends or ex's.
We did have an experience sort of like yours..my best friend and I had a crush on the same person and we talked about it. Because we both liked this person, neither one of pursued anything. We ended up becoming friends with person and 10 years later we are all still friends. When it comes to situations like this you should talk it out with your best friend and see what the boundaries are. I mean you wouldn't want to let another person come in between your friendship would you?

She liked him first, so i would think you should be a real friend and let her have him. If it doesnt work out between them maybe then ask her if it would be ok to go out with him. But you should know about the rule that you dont date your friend's ex.

Have you found out if the boy likes any one of you? If he likes you, then your friend should be happy for you and if he likes your friend then you should feel the same way! You shouldn't force someone to like you anyway. If he doesn't like you, then i am sure you would be able to find someone great. Good luck!!!!!!

there is no such thing of who like him first. if you really want that guy make the first move and if likes you too then great...tell your friend that you understand if she is mad and give her time. if the guy shows no reaction on you but likes your friend. you just have to let go and wish the best to her.
