So long as your girlfriend treats them with respect and kindness, there is time for your family to grow on her and vice versa. Their relationships can be more like a working relationship - existing because they have something in common - you. You can expect everyone involved to treat each other decently, but you can't expect everyone to like each other. Good luck.

It means you are in for some hardship!! Depending if she is immature or not. If she can keep her thoughts to herself and not express them to you or your family it may work....but if there is open knowledge of the dislike you WILL have an unhappy relationship..I kept my mouth closed and it still was unhappy so......and his mother was part of the reason we got divorced....

She doesn't have to like your family but she must respect them out of respect for you. But if she really cared for you she would make an effort to care for your family as well.
