It is going to be a relatively small party, but there will be kids of all ages, so I need something for them to do!! There will be two other babies that are just a few months younger than my son, a few 2 year olds, 3 year old and 3 others that are around 10 years old. I need to find something for everyone to do, and they don't have to all be the same thing. Also, I live in Florida so we can do anything outside! Help! The party is Saturday!!!

Kids that young do better with unstructured play. Give the younger ones some balls to kick, things to ride or push and pull around. The toddlers will do well with unstructured play, and you can also play games like duck duck goose or musical chairs. The youngest babies are best kept away from the more roudy children and given baby-friendly toys to play with.

Sounds like you went overboard on the 1st birthday party thing. Don't be surprised if you 1 year old is cranky through most of it. I don't consider what you're planning small at all. To me a 1st birthday would be immediate family and grandparents. Low key, because the child isn't going to remember any of it...Everytime someone plans a big party I wonder who the party is actually for, the child or the parent's egos. Friends and other relatives stopping by to wish the birth child a happy one is great but that's it, keep it at just stopping by if they want to. I've yet to go to a large party where the baby was actually happy about the crowd and the focus was actually on the birthday child. I have a question for you...do YOU remember your first birthday? Not what other's told you about what happened...but do you remember it at all?

If it is nice out just have outdoor toys and let them play on their own. Little kids are better at that than structured games. For the older ones let them decorate the goody bags. I bought plain brown paper bags, markers and stickers and let them draw and put the stickers on.

A moon bounce is fun for the all ages.
Look in a phone book for it or you could rent one from a broadcaster or something.

how about organising a barbeque with a water pool for them to splash in? of course, you'll need the help of some other adults, but i think they'll enjoy it alot.
