YEAH, spend the day with her. Tell her you love her and she has had a major impact on your life. (if this is true). My nan died and i never got to do and say things that i wished i could or should have done/said.
Your nan has so much to offer you, in knowledge sense. You can learn somuch from her.
I miss my nan like mad. She has been gone 4 years now. And the one thing i would love to do with my nan right now, is to make her a cup of tea, or pour her a glass of red wine and sit there with her and play with her hair. Thats what i would love to do more than anythingin the world.
Your nan is 93, she wont liveforever, so if you really do care about her and are close to her, dont get her anything expensive, just spend more of your time with her, thats all.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two and family would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Hi Crazy,
For my Grandmas' 95th, I presented her with a smart antique magnifying glass, brass, about 3" diameter, with an etched glass handle.
As the old eyesight was fading a bit, and reading specs were proving of not much use.
She then returned to doing crossword puzzles etc.
A useful item then - I was pleased also.
Alas she is no longer with us, but made it to 3 weeks before her 100th.
The item is still with her under the ground, to help her see her way around the "afterlife" - if such a thing exists !
All the best,
Bob the Boat.

my nan is also 93.. i got a photo of her when she was about 4... and i photoshopped it into a nice pic of her at 90... ...
at 93 if they havent got it, they dont really need it, or they dont want it...because if they did, they'd have bought it...
difficult i know... we settled for a birthday cake... and fed 300 people at the club where she plays bingo... and 300 people sang happy birthday hilda... she had a good night... didnt win on the bingo.. but, we still all had a great night out.

The Best gift that you can give your nan is some of your time.I am sure she will appreciate the fact that you spend time with her talking, reminiscing or just listening to her talk.

It depends what type of things she likes? Do you have any children? If so, there are a lot of good website, where you upload your photos and you can make gifts. Eg - a mug, jigsaw puzzle, etc with the pic you want. So if you do have children you could do that.
If you don't, not sure, like I said, depends what type of things she likes. An ornament maybe, or a plant, if she likes plants. Her favourite perfume, treat her to lunch.

why not buy a huge scrapbook and go around the family asking for photos, then make her a lovely trip down memory lane, also a bunch of flowers and some nice choccys or biscuits so she can sit down and relax as she looks through the scrapbook

Can you make a scrapbook? Including photos of as many family members as possible. Google "what happened in 1914" and write what happened on the year of her birth. Draw up a family tree.

If your nan is well enough I would take her to the seaside instead of a main present. My nan used to love it when we did this.
