I asked this guy out on a date in front of his coworker, he said yes and suddenly blushd. I got shy and didn't follow through with it. I guess I got cold feet.

Three months later, I see him at his work, he pretends not to see me but he gives his friend a quick glance and he smiles to himself. He walks by, says hello but he doesn't wait on me (his friend does) and when I finally get the guts to ask him, he says he's now involved.

So this is payback, right? For me not following up with the date in a timely fashion?

FYI, The guy is in his late twenties, and so am I.

Well , you should NOT ask someone out unless you are going to follow through with it. He probably thought that you were just playing with his emotions. You need to apologize, and explain why you did what you did. If you are in your late 20's you need to start acting like it and admit when you are wrong, you need to ask him for his forgiveness for your inconsiderate behavior.

Well clearly you had a possible chance and you missed it. you need to learn to cease the oppertunity of a lifetime whilst the life-time of the oppertunity exists. Every moment and opperunity has a time span. But Hey! living is journey we all learn so take this as a learning curb. Besides it probably wasn't meant to be, f it was it will come back to you. Alternatively have the guts to let him know about your mistake adn if he is not moved, you move on.

No, not payback. He just moved on. Don't read too much into it, just make sure and follow thru with dates when you ask.

you embarressed him in front of his friends, then you dont follow through - what is he supposed to do? Wait around forever. Its not payback its life, date his friend - he seems more interesed in you
