I am a stay at home mom of two.I think it is best for your daughter to stay at home. I believe why have kids if your going to let someone else raise them. I would however consider finding a play group that she can go to once or twice a week so she can socialized with other children. That also gives the mom a few hours a week to herself or to run errands.

Why would you take her to a nursery when she could stay home with her mom? I have an 18 month old daughter and I love staying at home with her, she is so much fun. None of my kids will be in a day care.

we need information to reply to that! What are the circumstances? Can you and your partner afford for her to stay at home? Is she a 'mumsy' sort? will she enjoy being at home or will she get resentful of you? Will your daughter be well-socialised if she stays at home or would being at nursery be better for her in terms of mixing with other kids? Is the nursery a good one? You can't make a decision like this based on the information you have supplied.

At home is best, as long as she is exposed to other kids her age like a playgroup so she becomes socialized and learns to share. If mom has to work and no relatives or a private babt sitter is available day care is about the only other option. If you are looking into day care make sure you find out if they are licesened.
