Can anyone please tell me what are the safety tips in the kitchen

1. Have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket handy
2. Never leave the kitchen if you have food cooking
3. Handle pans should not face you, turn it to the wall
4. Always wash your hands before cooking
5. Try not to use the same knife or chopping board for meat

Always have a box of baking soda nearby to throw on any stove fires...
A fire extinguisher is always good to have close by too.
If there are kids lock all the reachable cabinets.
Remove knobs on the stove if you have kids...
Keep all utensils away for kids.
Clean your counter tops often with some good cleaning product......Mainly where ever you cut up chicken, meats..

those are some good answers. i'll add one.
never put water on a grease fire. putting water on a burning pot of oil or grease, will cause the flames to increase in volume, and spread rapidly. it will actually engulf a small kitchen.
