A copyright notice or copyright symbol , ©, is an identifier placed on copies of the work to inform the world of copyright ownership.
Unlike the copyright symbol, the "R in a circle", or ® symbol, informs the public that the trademark is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
