if you could show the steps, i would really really appreciate it

Seems like there should be more to the question.

However with what you have showing in polar coordinates this would be [12,0].

12 is the "x" value. You donot have anything showing the "y" value so I'm assuming it's zero.

There really is not "theta".

Polar coordinates are in the form (x,y).

To convert the Cartesian equation of the vertical line

x = 12

into polar form use the identity.

x = r cosθ
r = x / cosθ

Plug in the value x = 12 and we have:

r = 12 / cosθ

There is no need to solve for θ. As θ ranges over its values the vertical line is drawn.
