I think her beauty represents more people from Panama than American people. She has not the face of a Miss. US, more likely any miss in south america.

Yeah..what other people said. Not sure of all the rules....i don't think its as strict as being president where you ahve to be born on U.S. soil...can't become a citizen and be president.

Now what you're saying about how she looks. I think the traditional miss america is more of a miss europe...white...blonde...blue eyes. Unless the girl is multiracial. Not a german irish mix or something, but like 1/4 phillipino 1/4 irish 1/4 japanese.....etc Well thats what a true "miss america" would be since this is the melting pot.
Taking a less strict view but still saying america is a melting pot....then anyone with u.s. citizenship represents the look of america ...no matter where they are from.

Well according to Wikipedia one of her parents was in the military and they were stationed in Panama for the time of her birth.

The Panama Canal Treaties did allow those US Citizens that were born in the Canal Zone to claim Panamanian Citizenship at the time of their birth. Maybe they did.

Yeah, she looked very "Latina" to me, too. Although, there is no "American" look because the US is a melting pot country...and Americans come in all sizes, shapes, and colors.

she could have been born to US Citizen parents....

If you are born in another country .. and one of your parents is a US Citizen.. you too are a US citizen...

and if you are born in this country to parents who are not US citizens.. you are a citizen because you are born here......

That is why there are pregnant women coming from Mexico and trying to have their child here... as the child would be a citizen.. and the MOM would not be deported....
