Is that the only way he is going to be let in?

With all of his now conflicting stories, lies, and rules violations, AND lack of regret, I would say you are correct. The only thing that would make the general public reflect on his playing days and not his later indigressions would be a posthumos (sp?) revival of appreciation... sad, and disturbing, but probably true. What an endless shame and black eye this whole sorry old saga is!

Never!! He has burned every bridge possible. He knowingly broke the cardinal sin of baseball and then lied about it for 15 years. Realizing that he was getting no where with his lies he figures, "Why not tell the truth? Maybe that will change every ones mind." Well, it didn't. I personally had the unpleasant misfortune of meeting this arrogant, self centered slim. He may have been a creditable baseball player but he is certainly not a good person. He does not deserve to be in the hall of fame...........ever!

Pete Rose not being the HOF is the one thing that has really soured me on basbell, he earned it on the field, and gambling is no worse than drugs. Steve Howe was suspended from baseball 7 times for drug abuse and he is eligible for the HOF. At least the Reds did the right thing and inducted him into the Cincinnati Reds HOF.

NEVER!
NEVER!
NEVER!

That man does NOT, I repeat, NOT deserve to be in The Hall Of Fame---not even after he's been dead for ten thousand years! He does NOT deserve to be in the HOF, not even as a paying customer!!!!

Rose was his own worst enemy. He deserves to be in despite himself. He was a great player. He bet as a manager at least that is when he got caught. He should be admitted as a player.

He will be in one day. Hell if a racist like Ty Cobb can get in Pete should be able to get in. Then again Ty wasn't beating on baseball.

I don't think they will, but I would like to see go into the Hall. I think he deserves it.
