I currently have the book and I rented the movie, and was curious if I should just watch the movie and then read the book or vice versa?

I read the first 4 pages, and it seemed quite confusing.

Read the book first then watch the movie . personally i prefer the book over the movie . I finished the book in one reading yet took me three viewings of the movie because i kept falling asleep . It was boring for me not as exciting as the book . but then again it could just be me . i prefer reading over watching so .... your choice

I thought it was ok. It's a pretty decent read. I have not seen the movie, though I would always suggest reading a book before seeing the movie.

I thought that Angels and Demons (the first book with the same main character) was a much better story, and better read. I also think it would be much more likely to make an interesting and exciting movie.

The book is a decent read, the kind of thing you'd take on an airplane ride - not challenging and if you stop and think about it you realize the plot has more holes than swiss cheese. I finished it in about six hours. It's not a good book, but it's not actively bad. The ending, IMO, is pretty cheesy. I haven't seen the movie but it got some pretty bad reviews. I'd say read the book first.

If you want to read the book for entertainment's sake, then go ahead, don't read it and try and figure out what all the uproar was about. Another thing to keep in mind is that the movies are never as good as the books are, so read the book first and watch the movie after. Hope this helps - God Bless You!!!

Haven't seen the movie, so can't say there. To express a dissenting opinion on the book:

It is a quick read, a real page turner--but when you reach the end it's not clear what you've gotten out of it. Certainly don't take the "facts" as truth without a lot of checking. In the end, probably harmless, but maybe not worth the time.

The book is AWESOME!!!! At least that's what I feel. Even I felt the same way as you on starting the book but as you read on you will find the book interesting. I would advise read the book first then watch the movie.

The thing is, if you're going to read the book and watch its movie, you should treat it as just some another fictional book. You should read it for entertainment and with an open mind because if not, you'll just end up confused and with an aching head.

The book is much better, the beginning is a bit confusing, but then it gets very easy to read and interesting, because of all the codes and riddles, etc. In the movie, everything happens really quickly, it is even more confusing and yet uninteresting.

If you prefer your stories to be long, dull pieces of historical research (much like a history book) without any characterization and lacking any cohesive plot, then The DaVinci Code is for you.

If you prefer quality writing, colorful characterization, vivid narrative that shows rather than tells, then I'd avoid the DaVinci Code, which has inexplicably become popular probably because of the religious controversy. I can't really understand why it's considered a good book.

Yes! It's about :
An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leanardo da Vinci.
A desperate race through cathedrals and castles of Europe.
An astonishing truth concealed for centuries......unveiled at last.

Two persons, Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu, go on a journey to find out the codes of how Sophie's father got murdered.....Read it! It's good
