To a certain extent, yes, there is.
In our world, sex has ceased to mean anything other than the physical "need"...take into consideration ALL the different consequences...STD's...AIDS...unwanted pregnancy, broken hearts, etc.....and it makes utter and perfect sense to be chaste. At least until you have enough experience at life to see things less with need.
It also means being considerate, of yourself! Having enough self worth, enough self control, to make a consious decision to take control of the course of your lfie. To hold firm your own decisions agasint the influence of others. That is the beginning of wisdom.

There certainly is.

* no diseases
* no memories of previous liaisons when you are with the one you marry
* no stressing about "will s/he still love me?"
* no unplanned/unwanted pregnancies
* no emotional traumas

Being chaste is more than being celibate. It is being pure in thoughts as well. By not pursuing a relationship with the "I'll see if it works" mentality, then you are keeping your emotions intact (versus shattered) and the blessings are wonderful.

I was not chaste, and I regret it. Two friends from university were chaste, and their marriages were greatly blessed.

There is more wisdom in it than I have room to write! The consequences of NOT being chaste is a list as long as your arm. Diseases, broken relationships, heartaches and headaches...unwanted babies, financial woes, lifestyle changes, life's dreams not fulfilled....isn't that enough to scare anyone?

Look beyond the statistics regarding an unchaste life and apply them to yourself. I can't imagine these being attractive to anyone in their right mind.

Your question is admirable.

Wisdom can only be acheived through eperience and knoweledge and chaste is to restrain oneself from the best teacher there is - life.

They are two totally different spheres. Wisdom is an intellectual attribute, chastity is the emotive attribute of holding back, restraint.

I think so because you can be true to yourself and keep yourself whole and contained and not feel violated or that you have to give yourself up to someone if you want to or not....
