what is a domain authorisation password?

I wanted to transfer my domain from one provider to another, but was asked for a domain authorisation password. How do i get it from Indiatimes domains?

Answer 1

You have to contact the original host to get a password that will authorize the new host to move the domain. Sometimes there's an automated process in the Hosting Control Panel, but generally speaking, you have to call them or email them and for it.
