A single factor of hope as in the Revolutionary War, or a single, hated object.

It is not stable, it is eroding. The two democratic presidential front runners are a woman and a black man. This would not have been possible 10 years ago. Every year prejudice fades a little bit. Keep your eye on the big picture.

Prejudice is not stable. It increases when we are at war (or under duress) and goes back to "normal" levels when we aren't.

Even though I was taught not to be racist growing up I was also taught not to dat the (forgive me) "Zipper heads, dot head, towel head, etc., etc." what a contradiction huh I am rasing my kids to be kind yet to not trust anyone these days cause they will rob you blind and thats just not right... how do we get away from that is beyond me....

its simple, we (as humans) are afraid of what is not like us. or what we don't understand.

but Racism is socially unacceptable in our society and the threat of social stigma has helped lessen the effects of Racism to a degree. But it will always be there.
