my husband came out of work on Friday to a flat tyre, took it to local kwik fit on Sat morning, repair done, Sunday afternoon same tyre flat, went back to kwik fit, who said the original puncture was repaired, they found a further two punctures and advised a new tyre. Purchased brand new tyre at 3pm yesterday, drove home, got into work to be told by a colleague same tyre again is flat. We've not had one in years and now all of a sudden, this is happening!!! Thanks

I had the same problem with Kwik fit in Cardiff :p well they put a brand new continental tyre on and it exploded as I was driving at 70 mph on an A road. take it elsewhere I think!
did you ask them what may be causing the puncture? I've had a few nails in my tyres with no idea how they got there (inc over weekend! :() or is there a problem with the wheel thats causing it to puncture?

Hi
It sounds as though your husband needs a new wheel as there is obviously damage to the rim of the old wheel.
It could be kerbing damage or rust, or if it is an alloy it could be perishing.
The other scenario of course is the local ASBO having a laugh at yours and your husbands expense.
Have the wheel checked out, its the more likely reason.
Cheers
Geordie

with it being the same tire each time I would look at the rim, the new tire, or someone letter the air out of it or causing the problem. Take it back to the tire shop again and have them sand the rim down to clear any rust off the rim. also have them check the tire to punchers. if they find nails or screws and there are not any construction sites on his way to work, then someone has it out for him.

Could also be a bad wheel rim. Sometimes you just get sold bad tires. Most likely, however, there's not enough air pressure in the tire. Don't buy cheap tires. Get Michelin steel-belt radials if you can. They can cost around $80.00 a piece, but they're worth it. Goodyear Eagles are also good, and less expensive.

ask if on his ride to work he goes over bumps and a good pace. i had this problem with a always flattening tyre on my car, it turned out that is was catching under the wheel arch after the suspension had traveled to its max. check under the arch for sharp bits, corrosion and check the surrounding frame work.

If there is construction going on in the area's where he drives or demolition, that could be the source of nails or screws or some sharp object. Try to avoid gravel or dirt if possible, if someone lost nails or screws in gravel it won't be cleaned up.

tell him to check the lot he works at there might be something on the ground. if not it might be someone at work. next switch cars for a day and see if your tire goes flat or his. if the same tire goes flat its the rim.
