I have a presario 1500. When i use it for 30 mins or something, the screen flick and after a few seconds it turns black. But the computer is still running and I can barely see the icon and mouse moving. I can press the stand-by botton and the screen will come back for a few seconds then it blackout again. How can i fix the problem? The computer seems not very hot at the back.

I agree with testing it on an external monitor, see if it acts the same way.
To me, it sounds like either your inverter is going out or the backlight. The inverter is pretty low cost to replace, about $100. The backlight is very hard to replace and might be hard to find someone to replace it.
If your backlight it out, you may need a new lcd screen. Here is a good website for LCD screens http://www.screentekinc.com

Start > Control Panel > Display
Screen Saver tab > Power..
Turn off or adjust "Turn off monitor" option
There will be a setup scheme for battery use and a setup scheme for direct wall power use so adjust both and then "Save As.."
Try wiggling your mouse or moving around the touch pad to bring it back.

try using an extermal monitor via the back connection to get it working. then see if there are any problems with the drivers through the device manager(look for yellowed items). If that doesnt work, then try to update your driver from the manufacturers website. If that doesnt work, you either have a shot monitor or shot inverter that needs looked at proffesionally.
