It's certainly in a good location - within walking distance of all the sights and shops as well as a lot of nightlife. However I've never stayed there (I live in Edinburgh) but looking at the reviews on Tripadvisor the hotel can be a bit of a mixed bag.

Hello Joanna
Go to there website at www.osbournehotel.com. What I know of it it is clean and tidy, it's less that 1min walk to theatre. And it is fantastic for all main attractions in Edinburgh. The Palace, Castle, Royal Yacht all within 10 mins on bus and for places to eat and drink your spoilt where you will be going at least 30-40 places. The Deep Sea and Mama Roma next door are fantastic for food.
You'll love it here.
