When they heard Pomp and Circumstance at their own graduation? Or am I pretty much alone here?

Yes, well, speaking of pomp. I believe it was very clear to which one I was referring.

I went to my nephews graduation a couple of years ago, and when the graduates were walking in and they started playing pomp and circumstance, tears just automatically start rolling. I think its just a natural response and nothing you can do about it.

Oh you Americans. You're such a pushover for that crabby old reactionary Elgar. Here, he's regarded as a bit camp and a bit embarrassing. They're even taking his face off the back of the £20 note...

actually, no.
when i graduated from high school, i actually didn't cry until they played the memorial video for one of our classmates who died Freshman year.
college, no again. i had a lump in my throat as i walked up the aisle, and pretty much throughout the ceremony - but that all turned to a smile when my brother made some hair-brained comment in front of 2400 people when i was receiving my diploma.
ahhh, good times, good times.

Had such a bad experience and high school that I didn't even bother to go to graduation, sorry.
Maybe if I ever go back and finish college though

I did too- but I also cried at my son's high school and college graduations and all his little Christmas and singing concerts when he was in elementary school. I am a crier at those events!

No, I didn't cry as I wasn't there. I walked out of school the day they were throwing me out for getting into like my 50th fight.
I did get my GED.
