Everbody is talking about how the living standards are declining in Dubai. It has become a very expensive city and salaries are the same. Is it true and what can be done about it?

The answer is Yes, going down hill in terms of standard of living. Other countries are quickly attracting the professionals and unless the companies start paying their employees more, they will find them selves with no one.

It is true that living costs have risen in Dubai. However, this is clearly related to the growth that this desert-wonder-city is going through.

The biggest hike in the last couple of years was for real estate / accomodation. Thankfully, the Government has stepped in and placed a cap of 7% hike on rental agreement renewals.

Many reputed companies have taken the inflations into account and are compensating the employees accordingly. Needless to mention, the levels do vary.

However, it would be incorrect to mention that [quote] the living standards are declining in Dubai [unquote]. No, they are not!

No it hasn't.
It may be true that it has become an expensive city, but it is because it is the fastest improving city in the world!

There are many opportunities in Dubai, even jobs with good salaries....

Think about London .. Do you think things are also equal there? The city is too expensive for the jobs there!
