Who has changed the battery in their Ipod nano themselves? How difficult is it? Any links? Thanks in advance.

ahhh, yes, I remember the day well, my poor little nano would no longer hold a charge so I purchased a new battery and then the fun started. 1st you have to get the thing open, well they provide a tool and after a few minutes the thing was all over my desk. The battery did not have a connector so it must be soldered. There are 3 of the smallest wires you ever want to see and the PC board is tiny. At one point I was ready to smash the thing and buy a san disk (they have removable batterys). But in the end I was able to get the thing installed and actually get the thing back together again. WOW it worked, the batter is better then new and life is good! So yes it can be done but if you have little experience soldering, don't bother, you will fail..... Now I am looking to do a 2nd generation, if I can figure out how to open the damn thing. I have also changed batteries in the 20GB model, that was much easier. I also have a mini with a bad battery. SO YES, iPODS HAVE A BATTERY PROBLEM I WOULD SAY!!!!

i have dealt with so many ipod nanos before although ive never attempted to change the battery myself...i think its best that you go to a near by electronic store and ask them to install the new battery for you just in case that you dont install it correctly.
