Impossible to pick, but I'd have to say it's either:
Honda - for its reliability, global popularity and no-nonsense everyday usefulness.
BMW - for its reliability, power and versatility.
and Triumph - for its revived beauty, history, retro acknowledgment with modern reliability, range of styling to suit all tastes ... and a certain intangible "coolness".
The latter is easily my choice for "best".

When you ask a question like that, what exactly are you looking for? The best motorcycle produced? The best company to work for? The most cost effective? The best as far as it is related to production? Most modern? what exactly are you asking?

I'm going to go ahead and say that honda will be the most common answer. but for me? I love a Kawasaki. Kawasaki's have attitude, if they were a person they would swager into a bar knock over hondas beer and slap Mrs. Suzuki's a*s. Now thats a ride.

For a long time, that was Honda. It's not so clear cut any more. Yamaha and Kawasaki make great motorcycles too these days.

MV Agusta and Ducati well since they are Italian but they are really expensive. Suzuki GSX-R are really good since they are the most balanced bikes there are, they have been around for more then 20 years, and they are really durable and fast. The new Honda CBR is a good bike but the restt of Honda's bikes are crap. Yamaha has all crap bikes except for the 2005 YZF-600 and the 2007 R1. All of Yamaha's bikes are really poorly balanced and are very easy to fall with. Kawasaki are all crap bikes.

Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW, KTM, Harley/Buell, Triumph, Ducati, Victory, etc in that order. I base my answer on the versatility of each brands lineup. Honda makes 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, sport bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, skooters and everything in between, while Ducati basically only makes sport/touring bikes and Victory just cruisers.

That depends entirely upon the personal opinion of the person you ask.

Honda is the standard for reliability, but I think you'd have to consider Victory, as well.

Honda number 1? Yeah right...they make all that other stuff....cars, lawn mowers, power generators.....like they really give a damn about their bikes! HA!
Your question is way too broad....it's open-ended and will be entirely opinionated with responses.
