Both, As a girl I imagined all kids of wonderful outcomes for my life. Happily married with twin girls and living happy ever after. Then I went through a bad patch and everything looked so black, but that didnt last so, here I am. In answer to your question.....my life ended up completely different than I imagined, but good.

Worse than I expected. My partner died, lost my job through mental ill health because of this, and still suffering with PTSD.
I have to wonder if I am ever going to turn any of it around or even if I care any more.

different, although not necessarily worse!
i didnt plan to have a child until my mid 30's and thought id have a mega career but instead i had a child at 18 and no mega career but totally happiness with my family! different but not always better or worse!

You know the old "always darkest right before the dawn," well it seems to be true with me. I thought love was for others, and I was destined to not find that one incredible, amazing person I wanted to spend forever with.
Guess I was wrong, and glad of it.
