Actually. Superman's creators both (both Jewish) may have based Superman's childhood on the story of Moses.

In order to save Moses' life, his mother placed him in a floating basket and sent him down the river..where he was eventually discovered and raised by strangers (an Egyptian princess).

This parallels in some baby Kal-El being placed in a small rocket to save his life sent to be raised by strangers.

More than anything, Siegel and Shuster claimed that Superman was just adolescent wish fulfillment. They wanted a hero who had all the good qualities of Strongmen of the past like Hercules and Samson. They were only teenagers when they came up with him, and not the most athletic ones at that. Shuster had very poor eyesight and had to wear glasses, all his life. Siegel had a crush on a girl named Lois Amster who never really gave him the time of day. More than anything, he wasn't representative of any religious figure...he was what they and frankly we all wish we could be.

Good observations.
Have you noticed the similarities in Ice Age2 and the Bible?
All the animals boards a big piece of bark to escape the flood, kind of reminds us of Noah.
Also Scrat saves the animals when he cracks the dam, just before he falls he's in the same position Jesus was on the cross. Both Saviours.
