A strong password MUST have at least 8 characters, using upper and lower case letters, numbers, and punctuation marks. Do not use any real words, especially easy-to- guess words like love, password, or the name of your husband!
Your secret question and answer must be something truly secret even if you must make up a nonsense answer. Too many people know the name of your first school or the name of your pet!
Never tell anybody, even your best friend, what your password is. Friends don't last forever. Todays "friend" can be tomorrows enemy!
Never type your password when someone is looking over your shoulder. Would you enter your PIN # into an ATM with somebody watching?
And never write your password down and use a "Stick-It" to attach it on your monitor. Don't laugh, people do this all the time!
Use different passwords for each service you use. Your password to start your computer must be different from your Hotmail password which should be different from your Yahoo password etc. And change them all every few months.

The most secure passwords have a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
You can substitute some letters for numbers and vice-versa (e.g. 0 and O, 4 and A, 3 and E, 1 and I).
Pick something that you'll remember, like password and then substitute numbers so you get p4ssw0rd. Then put in some capitals. You'll end up with something like P4ssW0rd.
Hope this helps.

Try the combination of letters and numbers. You can remember this by perhaps creating a song out of it. Or use a word and use the rank of each letter as your password. For example cookie will be 315151195. Try to memorize it. If you can't just memorize the word and decode it later. Another one is to add two very far-away words that aren't related to each other and combine it together with a hyphen or even spell it alternately. Example is church and sweets. Those have no relation. you can spell it alternately like weaving it like this csuwrecehts or use a hyphen to make it easier.

Add randomness. Use caps and lowercase combinations.
Use parts of words of objects you see around you.
Use numbers to replace letters (4= A, 1=L, 3=E...)
Best to use passwords that a different but if you use the same password for different things add initials or abbreviations to the end of password that represents what it is used for.
If you want to write down all your passwords:
For every password use a secret letter(s) or number(s) that you only use once in a password and in a certain spot. When you write them all down do not write down the missing secret letter(s). So for example you know that when you type in a password you have to add your secret piece at the forth letter or whatever spot you choose. If someone gets your list of passwords they won't be able to log in with them,
Don't use birth years, last four numbers of phone numbers, parts of SS numbers, initials, pets names, etc.

Firstly let me tell you that there is NO Password that is "UNCRACKABLE".
But a good tip on making passwords is to:
1. Think of words that don't have anything to do with your daily life. Be innovative. eg. "firebottle"
2. More effectively, try spelling the words as to how they are pronounced. eg. "fyrebotl" for the same "firebottle"
Makes it hard to figure out.. but still NOT UNCRACKABLE.
