I've tried ignoring it but he just doesn't notice the mess and we end up living in filth. I have a cleaner who starts this week which will help but the cleaner will clean, not pick up after his lazy ****. Help me, it's driving me crackers!

Its time you sat him down(that wont be hard)and told him exactly how you are feeling, Not sure if he works but if he dont then he is taking the ****
Make up a rota where everyone has there own bits to do.

Failing this show him all the replies you get back on here,The extra money you pay out for a cleaner could pay for something nice like saving towards a holiday......thats where you should have a cleaner!

Have you tried talking to him about it, my ex used to complain about how things looked, but never lifted a finger to help and most of the mess was his, we both had full time jobs and I had two kids to look after aswell, he always critisied how I did things but never did anything to help.

We ended getting divorced and guess who's house is unclean and messy - not mine, and I have the two children 24/7 and still work full-time. He on the other hand packed in work so he didn't have to support the children financially, so has all day everyday to clean, but can't be bothered.

i know the feeling, my partner is exactly the same and it drives me so mad...the problem is he´s great at everything else, well more or less everthing else...but the roof could fall on his head before he lifts a finger to fix something. the only housework he does is that he occasionally makes the bed! i can be rushed off my feet but he won´t lift a finger to help. Perhaps are anwser would be to stop doing our part (which is the whole part) and see what they do...a kinda strike...if you find a solution let me know...i´ll do the same if i find one

If it was me, i'd make my own tea, wash my own clothes, do my own shopping etc. and stick to it ridgidly ! If that doesnt work, throw the lazy git out of the house along with his dirty unwashed stuff. I'm a man and i'd never live like that. JEEEESUS your his slave woman !

Throw out anything that isn't nailed down and usable. Less items, less clutter. He probably won't even miss it to begin with.
