1) Hiddink or Ferguson (it really hurt to say that last name as a Liverpool fan...)
2) Argentina (for sheer depth of talent)
3) In a nutshell, because from an early age, English players are drilled on tactics and teamwork rather than simple ball skills. So they don't have the all-important confidence with the ball that others, especially S. Americans, have. That means they feel the pressure more on the big stage and wilt.
4) Like the rugby team, they might win something with sheer dogged determination and team spirit, if they "targeted" the tournament. But the problem is bigger than any single manager can overcome.
5) I don't think they "immediately" do, but they aren't very patient either. In the cases of Eriksson and McLaren, they deserved it: they were (are) staggeringly inept and naive.
6) ....the scenario is so far-fetched it's a struggle to come up with an answer to that.
7) I think England fans, by and large, are quite patient and supportive considering the enormous expense involved in following the team these days - and considering the rewards footballers get irrespective of their merit. Same can be said for most clubs.
8) They were idiots chasing Scolari away from the England job and they hounded Hoddle out of the post for a relatively trivial issue unrelated to football when he was actually doing quite a good job.

It would help if we were breeding footballers with more brains and common sense. Most English players are pretty dim, and you need sharp, clever cunning to get to the top these days. Not morons like Rio Ferdinand.

1. Gus Hiddink (not sure that's spelt right)
2. Brazil
3. They haven't they are at their level - not good enough
4. Maybe if they got Gus.
5. Because they are bored and have nothing else to do. In this case he is also rubbish
6. will never happen
7. no - how can a supporter effect the way a player performs?
8. they over hype England and make people believe we are better than we actually are

The problem lies with England coaches not allowing players to express themselves on the pitch and training out of them any flair. Technically we can't stack up against most other top nations - the premiership is too fast and furious, I prefer watching Spanish football because they are all technically better.

1. - Fabio Cappello
2. - Brazil
3. - Overated, press hype
4. nope
5. - the media are jerks, more interested in a story than englands success.
6. - Im sure they would find a scandel to expose, failing that they would set one up.
7. - No these players are on £100,000 a week its fair to expect they should be the best at their proffesion.
8. yes.

I blame the media for the poor performance in th world cup.

The whole setting sven up before the world cup with the fake sheikh only served to unsettle the whole squad and the manager before the world cup.

As much as peole disliked sven his record was actually quite good, and had he not been forced in to reveal he would leave after the world cup they would have done better

it gets me that the manager gets all the stick what about all the over paid over rated players i think he was the wrong person to be the manager should have been O'Neil in my opinion i blame all the big clubs for the way the England team is going .To many foreign players are national team will go like Scotland's Celtic,Rangers how many Scot's in in there teams its about time the English clubs started to bring players through there academy's and stop buying overseas players and put some pride back into English football

If the England players didn't keep telling us how good they are then they probably wouldn't get such a hard time in the press.

If they really believe that their efforts are worth £100k+ per week and that they should be absolved from responisibility when they can't manage to score in 5 matches............................

And the reason why the press write anything ? Not because it's true or because they believe it.......they write to sell newspapers. Bought by you and I.
