your car door whilst you were closing it. Would you let a stranger fumble about in your front jeans pocket to retreive your car keys for you so you could release your hand? I think I would be a bit embarassed.

I would use my other hand, and if I was stupid enough to get both of them stuck, a stranger's hand in my pants would be the last of my worries.

I think you would be in too much pain to care.Even the guy holding the "I will work for food" sign would be acceptable.
I x-ray fingers on occasion for that.
