1) Try to get a good night's sleep. You won't be able to concentrate if you are sleepy.
2) Dress appropriately. You aren't going on a date. You probably should NOT show too much skin. Most places will frown on that. Dress the way the other employees dress. Be well groomed. Polish your shoes, make sure your clothes are pressed, etc.
3) Try to eat a good breakfast. You won't be able to concentrate if you are hungry or low on blood sugar.
4) Listen carefully and pay attention to details. Take notes if you have to.
5) Don't be afraid to ask questions. You will look stupid if you didn't ask and now don't know what to do.
6) Don't pretend you know how to do something. Tell the truth or it will bite you. And no one will feel bad about letting the newbie go because they haven't become attached to you yet.
7) Don't make inane comments. Don't talk incessantly about your previous job or previous coworkers. No one wants to hear about it. Don't badmouth your previous job or coworkers.
8) Smile and be pleasant to everyone, even if you hate it. The first day can be rough, but usually gets better. Think of the paycheck that is coming.
9) Try to make friends with someone during lunch or while on a break. He/she may be able to give you tips to help you through the coming days.

Good luck!

Just relax and remember that it is your first day on the new job and the people you work for and with will also know this. Don't put so much stress on your self, relax and calm down as it will be alright.

No need to worry as you will be just fine.

Wear or brings something special you can feel good about having on or with you. It will give you a little boost of confidence. Thats what I do.
