I'm in a situation where I NEED two monitors to display the same thing simultaniously in 2 different locations ( one at the "recording desk" and the other in a sound proof booth.)
I've tried a Video Splitter Cable but the definition is... poor to say the least.
If I add a PCI video card to my motherboard and use that for ONE monitor, will the other monitor work off the built-in VGA Out? At the same time? Still with good definition?..

You can use both intergrated video and your PCI card at the same time. Hook up both monitors, right click desktop>properties>settings. There should be a drop down menu where it shows the different display adapters. Adjust the settings to your likings.

Actually only one VGA card can work at a time.
Another option could be using a laptop on the recording desk and hook up a monitor with that and then use dual monitors.
OR
You could use something like Symantec PC Anywhere and both of you could get connected. This way both of you can even share one screen.

I think the splitter idea just won't work because there's not enough data to drive two displays.
can you buy a video card that supports two displays?
and don't forget the difference between digital and analogue.
