I've recently started a new high school (i'm 17). I've made some really good friends. We recently went on a geography camp and I got to know some of my friends a lot better.

One girl (I would say she would be one of my best friends now) told me how she was really jelous of my body because she said she thought I was the perfect size.

I really don't agree, I have heaps of body image issues. I am not over weight or underweight for my height. I consider myself to be healthy. I hardly ever eat junk food and I exercise almost everyday. But still I have issues.

I think these issues come from the negitive comments I have had from my family. My mum subtle comments that i'm over weight and my grandparents say i'm built quite 'solidly'.

How can I over come this and love my body? And how can I ignore or etc these comments from my family!

I'm sorry your family can't just accept you as you are.I think people should close their eyes and "see" people this way. Most males never have these body image issues . Have you ever been on the beach and seen some of the males who wear spandex or speedos? Do you think these guys think they look bad? NO, they think they look good. This is the same confidence we should instill in the famale population. LOL.(sort of).i don't think your parents are trying to hurt your feelings, they probably think they are being helpful. Their remarks hurt because they are family. I told Lori you were in inspiration for others based on several of your answers.Love yourself for everything you have achieved and all that you can be.

you're truly into the boxy variety of 70s and 80s vehicles. regrettably maximum present day vehicles do in simple terms no longer choose for that look, even although there are nonetheless some that have quite sq. upright proportions, such by way of fact the Nissan cube, the Scion xB, and the Kia Soul. P.S. The Scion xB 2003-2007 became even boxier than the present variety.

I really feel for you. Body issues have plagued women and girls for ages! You are at an especially sensitive age. I am really sorry that you have been getting such negative messages from your family about your body. It sounds like you are o.k. and are doing whatever you can to stay fit.
A good idea may be for you to check into Yoga as it develops body and mind. It is also very relaxing.
It is great for the self esteem, I find.
Good luck!:)

mind over matter-energy attracts like energy...never -mind what anyone says...think positive...to attract more positive, that will counter-react the negative....we are all beautiful...in ways, and,...not so beautiful in ways...who really defines beautiful? It's easy to love beauty...every-one does...but the not so beautiful...not so easy to love...yet...needs love the most.
