As the baby grows it feeds off of the sugar of the mother. If you gain too much weight you will get Gestational Diabetes. What happens in that instance is you eat sugar, your body produces insulin to fight the sugar off but your baby fights the insulin with hormones to get the sugar leaving you with this sugar floating in your blood stream cause no one gets it! I would limit the sugar intake and watch the carb intake. IT was brutal being diabetic while pregnant.

It is ok in moderation. Soft drinks, chocolates & lollies are not great but ok as a treat once a week or less. 1 or 2 sugars in your coffee or tea is absolutely fine once or twice a day.

If you mean like in drinks and food, yeah. Of course anything in large amounts is never good, but sugar is fine during pregnancy.

Except for health reasons - putting on weight - there is nothing wrong with it!
