These tests can take days, weeks or even months to get it right. Some have gone so far that the only true positive in their pregnancies turned out in the delivery room!! Also, false positives can be signs of other problems, as well. Check with the doctor if this continues to be troubling to you. Your health, and that of an unborn child, should there be one, is too important to mess this up with! Good Luck

Took me weeks! I took test after test, cheap ones, expensive ones, ones supposed to detect if your pregnant 5 days before your missed period, negative negative negative! Finally, I just went to the hospital and gave them all pregnancy symptoms. They did a test on their high tech machine, and BAM. I was pregnant. Isnt that weird? Some people can take a test and get positive results in just a couple weeks, when others have to wait forever. Just hang in there. Or make an appointment with a doctor and they can do a blood test. good luck! hope i helped

There are a few tests out there that can show a positive three days after a missed period, sometimes even before a period. Blood tests are the only fool proof. If you missed a period even by a day use the morning urine and you should get an accurate result. Good Luck either way.

it can take weeks, just depends on how fast your body is making the pregnancy hormone, but it should usually (not always tho) show by atleast a week after a missed period. I've heard stories some people don't have one on a HPT, and the only way they knew was the doctor, because the test never picked it up.

yes, i was 3 months before a home pregnancy test showed a positive result.I finally went to the doctor after my 5th negative HPT, and got a blood test. that confirmed i was pregnant. I took anoth HPT about a month later, just so I could have one to put in the baby's book.
