Cu + HNO3 + HNO3 = Cu(NO3)2 + NO + H20 Cu is going from 0 to +2 N is going from +5 to +2 3Cu + 2HNO3 + 6HNO3 = 3Cu(NO3)2 + 2NO + 4H20 3Cu + 8HNO3 = 3Cu(NO3)2 + 2NO + 4H20 word I wrote the HNO3 two times for the reason that some is going to the NO and a few maintains to be NO3
