I have always been a cryer grown up or not. I cry when I am mad, sad, and happy. I can't help the tears! If someone insults me I usually insult them back even better than they got me. But if it happens to be someone I cared about insulting me, then yeah I would tear up!

I never cry when insulted. I'm more likely to cry when moved by pathos.
I'm no less likely to cry about this now than I ever was. In college, just a year or two ago I cried at the end of Franz Kafka's biography even when I knew he died of T.B. at 41. I guess the description of the illness in the last days got to me... the constant low grade fever, chills, throat too sore to
swallow. I was alone, however. I try not to cry in public even though it is considered more acceptable for me to do so since I'm a woman.

I cry all the time - if I see a Lassie movie advertised, I'll burst into tears, and don't get me started on Black Beauty....
I cry when something moves me, and when I feel for someone, and if I watch anything half nostalgic - it's out with the tissues. The news often makes me cry, and those horrible animal cruelty ads make me bawl - I can't watch them.
I have never cried if someone insulted me, now that you mention it - I would tend to get mad rather than sad.

I never cried easily as a child; only when I was really angry. That stayed true for many years. Now, I can get all teary over coffee commercials on television.

I don't cry if someone insults me. I usually don't really care about their opinion, so why would I let it bother me?

Hormonally, I cry at a drop of a hat. Otherwise, I just cry at movies, sweet moments, when someone is so mean they deserve to die (by I cry after the fact, not during), and joyful stuff.

When we are kids we cry for almost anything

As adults we cry for more important things. Some of us have trouble crying, and have to do it in private. Men must find it hard to cry in public, but I find a man that can cry openly, so attractive.

We are an emotional species.

But the First Time
Your Baby Cries
I Bet there is
Not a Man
Without a Tear in his Eyes

I used to be really hypersensitive to criticism. As soon as someone said I was doing something wrong-no matter how gently they tried to say it, I would tear up and my voice would get jiggly. I hated it and couldn't figure out why it happened. Later on, I guess it just sort of went away although when someone scolds me harder than needed now, I do get angry and very defensive. I read a book once called Compassion and Self-Hate which may have helped me some. It talked about being more compassionate to yourself. We're all our own toughest critic! No one can beat us up as badly as we do ourselves.
