And don't give me that "Freedom to be oneself" baloney, because anyone given the freedom to commit sin is naturally going to be happy about it. I just want to know - what are the actual BENEFITS of homosexuality? Or aren't there any?

Am I going to get any real answers soon, or just more asinine rephrasings of the original question?

Gay Lord - that is actually a benefit of cowardice and self-reprobation. Striking in its similarity, isn't it?

You have clearly already made your mind up.
Out of curiousity, what benefits do you personally offer the world?

The same benefits as being "straight". The only difference is that you are both of the same sex. Oops and big deal! Live with it!
As for Sin. That is a matter of religious opinion. There are many more religions that say that it is not a sin. How can LOVE be a sin? Is love not a gift from the God/s?
A person does not sit down and weigh up the options. Like if I go straight, I can have a wife, kids, house and a million dollars but if I go gay I can have a bf and 3 million dollars. Hello it does not work like that. Love is not like buying a new car, where you car choose what you want. You should be with someone because you love them not for what you can get out of them.

Since marriage isn't legal, and there is no government paper legally binding two gays or lesbians together, the relationships are more spiritually fused. Sure there are some horror stories because there really needs to be a marriage certificate, and that would protect some legal aspects of the people involved, but over all gay people who decide to be together do it out of love.
Because gays see things differently from the beginning of life, our world is filled with examples where everyone benefits from that experience... art, government, businesses... even in church. There are examples of homosexual people and their work all around you that you maybe haven't considered.

You have double standards Jason and you’re a hypocrite. Your kind are common on this site. Married, middle aged bisexual men who have 2 or 3 kids. They’ve had the odd sexual experience with other guys in the past, but it goes against their religion. So they ask God for forgiveness (because they feel guilty), but their sexual feelings don’t go away. That doesn’t make them straight, it makes them non-practicing bisexuals. God knows the truth about you Jason and he knows the real reason why you’re on this site.
No straight guy would sit on the internet each day looking up gay related stuff. Ask all your straight male friends if they’d do that and they’d all laugh in your face. The functions of my relationship are the same as any straight relationship. The only difference is if I want kids I have to adopt them (which I can legally do in my country). Your hatred of yourself is eating you up and turning you into a nasty person. You are your own worst enemy and you’ll end up a bitter old man. It doesn’t make me happy to say those words, I would rather you found contentment in your life. If you want to move on spiritually, then here’s what you should do. Do a bible online search and read up on ALL sins and abominations. Also look at what WERE acceptable practices in the bible. You’ll then see why Jesus didn’t say a word about gays and why the bible doesn’t say a word about homosexual orientation (only certain sex acts). Read up what it says about heterosexual sex acts, I think you’ll learn a few things.

While we may never know the actual benefits to nature that homosexuality provides you can be assured that it wouldn't exist in humans or other animals if there wasn't a biological benefit for it to exsist. In Darwinian theories of natural selection; if i trait is detrimental to the group it usually will fall by the way side. Since is hasn't been bred out of any group of animals logic dictates that it must be beneficial in some manner.

I think the salient question here is: why do you care so much?
It would be far more productive for you to face your own gay desires. Didn't you know? Many studies have shown that men that are the most vocally homophobic actually have quite a bit of secret gay desires themselves.
So quit whining about the gays and look in the mirror, bubba.

There are benefits in making human contact, in sharing energy. Everyone gets to join the Holy Orgy Kama Sutra, even homosexuals.

What are the benefits of tennis? Biologically, there are none, but that means nothing if you enjoy tennis and/or homosexuality.
Free yourself from the idea that everything must mean something in the grand scheme of things.

Hey Jason, a lot of reasonable people don't accept your idea about the existence of sin. It's not even clear what you mean by 'sin' since many religions differ on a definition, or rejct the idea entirely.
You are operating from an assumed set of presumptions, which are not shared by most of us. Consequently, we cannot argue with your points, since we are not even part of the discussion you are having with yourself, or with folks who agree with you.
If you really want to engage others and enter a discourse, then try framing your queries in less antagonstic framework.
To refer to our actual question, obviously people have a right in America to the pursuit of happiness. You seem happy with yourself, so why don't you just leave other people alone?
