I am 3 months pregnant with second child. I and my little girl nearly died in labour 2 years ago, hospital was totally responsible (was induced and went a bit wrong). Now i have to decide whether to have planned c-section or try and go natural. I was under general anastetic for first birth, missed out and had massive depression after. I want to ensure i see my second arrive but not sure i should be having unneccessary surgery? If i opt for natural birth at wonderful local midwife unit and things start going wrong they will rush me to the hospital i had first baby in. (Their care is so bad i'd be better off in a shed). Every mum wants to give birth naturally but it could all go wrong again and i dont want to risk the nightmare of the last time. Should i just book in for the c-section or try and go naturally? (Sorry, i know it's a bit of a hard one) xx

I had a terrible miscarriage last year and had to have a blood transfusion. I got pregnant last Feb. with twins and delivered them after 24 hours of non productive labour by section and another two blood transfusions because I bled out. No one can predict what will happen during labour and delivery. I am sorry you had to go through that. If I were you I would opt for the section. You will see the birth and not have to go through that bloody process of pain but you will have extreme pain for the next six weeks. I couldn't cough or even go pee by my self. You have a hard time holding your babe but it is worth seeing the birth. You have a choice. Some women don't ..Go for it. GOOD LUCK!!!! :)

This is a tough one. First of all I am terribly sorry you had to go through that with your first child. I had a very hard labor with my first. After 23 hours of hard labor they decided to prep me for a c - section. Well, as they were giving me the epidural, I had the urge to push and they let me try, thank god I had him natural. However due to the stress on him during labor he had a bowel movement inside and swallowed some of the meconium. Because he swallwed it, he had to have his lungs suctioned immediately after birth and due to this he was breathing extremely rapid. He had to be transpoted to a childrens hospital 1 1/2 hours away from me right after birth. He was in there for just over a week. And it broke my heart not being able to have that initial bond with him. My second labor was again over 24 hours and hard, but natural and everything went fine. I am now almost 38 weeks and hoping that this one goes better for me and baby. I really think you should do what your heart tells you to do. You know whats best for you and your child. Best wishes to you and your baby!!!

I work in labor and delivery so we have had patients with bad experiences the first time around and they are scared. We tell them they just need to think about what is the best for the health of the baby. I personally would not goto a midwife and be away from the hospital if something had happened the time before, that's just me. Midwifes are great and natural childbirth is a great thing to witness though too. Are there any other hospitals in your area? Talk to your friends that have children and see what they think, and if they did goto that hospital see who their doctor was or their nurse and you can ask for them to take care of you if they know you are coming like for an induction. Good luck with your pregnancy!

search for advice from consisting of your well being care specialist about an efficient lengthy-time period birth control approach. my sisters daughter was stillborn July last year p.m revealed she had nothing wrong with her now my sister is having a girl this July and is facing a hard decision. At the moment she has decided on a c section cause the labor would upset her to much and remind her of her daughter so i think a c section is a good idea you have a date and time and it is controlled so there is less what if involved lots of love to you take care xx

also i said to my sister it's her body her emotions up to her not her hubby's cause the end result is the same for him no matter what route she takes to get there xx

Definately try VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean) and if any problems arise have the hospital for backup. Most Midwives are very educated and will take care of you. I would go with that option. Dont schedule a cesarean go natural and try to have a wonderul labor and birth. Good luck hun.

Go for a C section, so you have a planned delivery and you know what is coming next.As you can never be sure this time as well that you would have a smooth sail.No pregnancy can be predicted that way.
Provided you have people around to take care of you Post delivery
