Etiquette used to say this was not a great idea!! However, I personally feel that every child is unique and worthy of their own special celebration. People get so caught up in the gift giving at showers....they need to remember the real reason to throw a shower is to CELEBRATE BABY!!

So....showers for 2nd, 3rd, 4th children are becoming more and more acceptable and prevalent. I say GO FOR IT!!

I guess it depends on how far apart in age the children are. Although I have some family members that are rude inconsiderate people. I know thats not nice of me to say, however, they have three kids each ( mind you they are my cousins, and not to mention they are sisters ) but their children are all 2 yrs apart in age. They had a shower for each baby. What kills me is they still had all the baby items from the previous child, what they would do is give their stuff away when they found out they were pregnant and then have another shower to get all new stuff. Plus all of their kids are boys. I am almost 38 weeks pregnant with my third ( third boy too ) I had a shower for my first who is now 5, I didn't have one for my second because I still had all the baby stuff and they were only 23 months apart. However after my second was born my hubby and I decided two children was enough and we didn't want to have anymore. So as my son grew out of his stuff we got rid of it. I mean got rid of everything!!! Well, 2 yrs later we decide, lets try for a girl. Well... you see where that got me, lol!!! No girl and no baby stuff. We went and bought some new things, and some friends gave us some things, and Saturday my mother threw me a surprise shower. So I guess it all depends on your situation.

Yes it seems that many people have baby showers for all thier children. Why not? Its a great time to not only stock up on things but to gather all your family and friends to celebrate the baby. I know im gonna have one.

No, not unless the baby is a straggler, if all of the children are grown up and the mom gets pregnant when her youngest is quite old, then they usually will give her a shower.

Wow. i'm so sorry that got here approximately to you. i could be heart-broken as nicely if I have been on your shoes. perhaps the only element you're able to do is be happy that the people who quite care approximately you have been there to enjoy you. As for the others, next time you spot them say some thing like, "We overlooked you on the infant bathe the different day. i grew to become into worried once you probably did not look." they are going to in all risk start up having verbal diarrhea attempting to describe why they weren't there. lol you would be the bigger individual nonetheless via not making a extensive deal out of it.. Their awkwardness and embarrassment would make you sense a sprint extra advantageous too. :)
