I say GT.
My wife has the PNY 7600 GS w/512(with fan). It does a pretty good job on most stuff. As a gamer I think we would have been better served by the 7600 GT.

a 7600GT is 10-15% faster than a 7600GS.
and most games these days use 256Mb at max.
a couple of newer graphics intense games use 512mb that too if you run them with all graphical settings to the max, which a 7600 chip wont b able to run anyways.
a 7600 is a 128-bit card, which means its width is much smaller than a 256bit card. there is no point buying a 512mb card with a 128bit processor, you would never b able to use 512mb on it.
512mb is just a marketing gimmick, dont fall for it... go for GT!
GT is pure performance!
