mail order brides?

Question

what is the thought on mail order brides I realize most women are mad about it thinking the man wants a submissive or subservient woman. most men I have talked to say it is because american women expect to much of a free ride (mind you this is only a small group of friends I have asked 4 married 6 not married) one even said american women tend to do what they can till they get the ring then do less because if they get divorced they get half anyway. another pointed out a woman and/or man who get married tend to do less to keep them such as the woman/man suddenly not going to the gym being romantic or even affecianate. what do you think the difference in mail order versus home grown is?
P.S. if all you say is the ones who order mail order are losers I don't even want to hear it. I want thoughts not stupid unwitty answers, or at least be original with it. use a brain cell or two their cheap.

I've seen some of these foriegn bride sites, and they look to me like scams, especially the ones from Russia, Ukraine. The women are too beautiful. I find it hard to believe that young women like that are willing to leave everything for some American guy who might be ugly, but has a little money. So I wouldn't do it because I'd be worried about getting ripped off.

But I have been to parts of Eastern Europe, and many of the men over there treat women badly, so maybe some of it is true. I read somewhere online that a study done in the 90's showed that people who got married in this way had a lower rate of divorce, however, it was a smaller industry back then.

The men that tend to do this seem to be in their late 30's to their 50's, are not super wealthy, but have disposable income, and have been divorced, or have had other relationship problems. Saying that the men that do this are losers is kind of like saying people who join fraternities or sororities are just buying their friends. There's really nothing wrong with it, just another way of meeting people.

I've found that both male and female Americans tend to be very selfish, especially regarding their personal relationships. So it's understandable that someone might want to find someone from a less "me" oriented culture. How well that works out, I don't know.

I only know of three men who have married a mail order type bride. In both instances the woman wanted to get out of a bad situation. The men all wanted a woman to have his baby. Both men were not very socially desired in my opinion and the only thing going for him was his wallet. In all instances the woman left after becoming familiar in her new surroundings. (6-10 years) One man had to pay two years support to the woman so she could go to school and hold a job.
What is your problem that a couple when splitting should divide everything down the middle? I got married when I was 21. I had about $500, my husband had $100. If I left today I feel I should have 1/2 of everything. The reality is .. 1/2 of just enough is hardly anything. You should be more concerned with the fact American woman take the kids and alienate them from the dad PLUS want child support.
It is very hard to get along with a person from another culture. You have to be willing to let them do their cultural things with no interfering.

I don,t know of anything about mail order brides but if I were a man I,d be afraid of what might step off that plane or boat I mean you might be getting a crazy woman or even dangerous who knows.As far as marriage yes it does seem that way but I think people now days rush into things like sex on the first or second date and then they don,t have anything left when they say I do they,ve did it all so they get bored early in the marriage and too, I hate to compare marriage to a car but If you don,t fix little things on your car love it and look for little problems,care for it such as waxing and so forth it runs down and falls apart soon your looking for a new one, when if you,d just taken the time your car would still be running good and look like a classic.you have to work at marriage take the time to keep it going and find out what is wrong at times and fix it and keep it fine tuned and alive.In other words work at it and it want fall apart.Most of the time if your doing this your wife will also.In other words if you want to be treated like a king treat her like a queen.And forget about who gets what if there is a break up your looking for problems before you start,because most of the time a wife brings just as much to the marriage like work and so forth and today our courts are a lot fairer so stop worring and live.you,ll be happier.

You bet, it was a small group. I know people that have absolutely wonderful relationships after years and years of marriage. You only get out of a marriage, as much as you put into it regardless of the nationality. By the way, most mail order brides eventually become Americanized after coming to the states. If you don't like American women, don't live here!!

Uh, there's no such thing as "mail order brides" anymore. This is the modern age. There are many foreign woman who are looking for husbands or a Visa? Do you want a wife or a concubine?

It is so uncanny.. God made women the same all over the planet. Once they get the ring god!! they change... 90% of all married men on this planet earth are henpecked.. So it does not really matter if your bride is through mail or email or from your own country...
