I certainly accept that Dada deserves to be the captain of the Indian cricket team and John Wright to be the coach. John Wright and Dada are the greats of the Men in Blue who made them a better team and brought them to many success'. So far, since the Nagpur ODI, Dada has scored 98, 13, DNB, 68, 62, 48, 58*, 66, 89 and 7. The biggest problem in India is they want their batsmen or players to perform well in every game, score fiftys in every game, take 5 wicket hauls in every game. The day after the loss to SL in the WC 2007, in which he scored 7, his performance in the Times of India was given as a bleak performance just because of one innings. GANGULY DESERVES TO BE THE CAPTAIN!!!! COME ON dadaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Dear ,
We all would love that.. as he is dam good leader and motivator that is what we need..
but is it practical decision looking to the future of the team?? than answer is no.. look we need now a young captain we can learn what is captain by the time next world cup comes... Dada is the best .. but till how long he can play? now i think dada should take moral responsibility to train new captain who has to be dynamic and energetic like him..
my thinking is somthing like this..
1. make one young captain and train him under dada and other seniors.
2. the new captain should be agressive and less theoritical ...
3. dada has brilliant quality of leadership .. he should be ( after his retirment only ) coach of indian cricket team
4. mark my words ... our team will won the world cup the day dada would be coach of the team.. and i and person like you are waiting for that day to come.. it may take time but for sure..

Absolutely ! He has got a very good leadership ability and he can also motivate the players very well. He is not partial to anyone and we should not forget that under his captancy India won many matches. That is why he is called the most successful Indian captain.

The days of princes have gone long by, friend. Saurav, as a fighting player should be made captain, no doubt. But he has to perform. I do not know the reason, but his fluency was conspicous by its absence in the World Cup. Where did his fluency vanish?
As far as I know cricket is run more by politics, and if I have read correctly, Mumbai shall continue to 'rule'. It is the combination of terror and politics that rules India. There is no one that rules people's hearts.

Dada was the best captain India could have.no one has his passion,dynamism,game-reading or capacity to motivate.
he can turn waste into wealth.
his statistics speak for itself.
but at this crucial time, alot of burden has to be taken.
so as a selfish person i wouldn't want him to be the captain because just like before his batting will be spoilt & it will be easier thereafter to give him the stick after the team is stable.
let,Yuvi be the captain .
dadi will remain advisor.

Definitely not.
Dada has been a great asset to the team but lets not be driven by emotions or regional feeling at this point of crisis where we need to get to facts and rebuild our lost glory rather than make decisions emotionally.
In world cup matches, none of our batsmen played with common sense, and unfortunately even Dada is in the same category(inspite of scoring more than others). If you see the way he got out in the last two matches, or even the whole course of his stay, he was unable to rotate the strike, which is very important for scoring. Runs cant be got always through big shots, which is what our players seem to have been so fond of. They are not going by the basics of driving the ball into open areas and getting runs and I see ganguly in this area to be failing very badly. People with the kind of experience of ganguly/tendulkar are supposed to guide the team and them out of trouble situation to winning position single handedly (several great players of different countries have done this earlier,e.g Steve Waugh), our players do not have that kind of cricketing sense. Its hgh time we look towards young blood and cleanse the old stuff. I desperately want to see india play/win and i guess so does all other indians and for us an indian victory is much more important than our favourite players getting into bigger roles.

yes he should captain Indian team, instead of rahul dravid ,even though the two members of the team who build the team with there efficiency and intelligence ganguly is the better person to guide the team in the winning path because of his aggresiveness and attitude which is lacking in Mr.Jammy.

No... It's no rigth approach...
.... We need some one, who can be in team for coming 4 to 5 years...
I think some youngster to be chosen or else continue with dravid by putting some young guy as vice captain.

I would really like Dada to be the captain, for he is the best. But I am not very sure if the BCCI will do that. Let's wait and watch.
